PETALING JAYA: Consumer groups applauded the new guidelines against misleading advertisements for slimming products and services in the electronic media but called for increased penalties against offenders.
National Consumer Complaints Centre’s (NCCC) board of trustees member Muhammad Sha’ani Abdullah said while the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Content Forum warned of a RM50,000 fine, it should also consider jail terms.
