PETALING JAYA: With just two days to Chap Goh Meh or Chinese Valentine’s Day, youngsters are not all that enthusiastic about throwing oranges into the sea with hopes of finding a new love.
Chap Goh Meh falls on Monday this year, marking the end of the 15-day Year of the Monkey celebration. The day is also known for its romantic overtones, with maidens tossing oranges bearing their names and contact numbers into the sea or river to catch their Mr Right. In recent years, men have begun to take on the tradition, too.
