Academics: Temporary bauxite mining ban not adequate

PETALING JAYA: The environmental damage caused by bauxite mining in Kuantan may be irreversible if measures are not taken to rehabilitate the land, say academics.   

United Nations University research fellow Prof Dr Jamal Hisham Hashim said a temporary ban of bauxite mining would not be enough to resolve the situation.
