A-G drops sedition case against Azmi

KUALA LUMPUR: In a twist of events, the Attorney-General has discontinued the prosecution against Universiti Malaya law lecturer Associate Prof Dr Azmi Sharom (pic) in a sedition case.

The decision came about after studying evidence given by all the prosecution witnesses in the trial, said Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali, adding that he had used his discretion under Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution to discontinue the prosecution against Dr Azmi over the charge under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.
