PETALING JAYA: The National Union of Journalist (NUJ) Malaysia has joined other journalist groups in expressing its dissatisfaction with the proposal by Attorney-General to increase the punishment under the Officials Secrets Acts 1972.
In a statement on Sunday, its secretary-general Schave Jerome De Rozario said that the move contradicts a principle of journalistic ethics, which is to protect one’s source of information.
