IS-linked hacker appears in US court after extradition from Malaysia

WASHINGTON: A Kosovar citizen, extradited from Malaysia, appeared in US federal court in Virginia for allegedly hacking the personal data of more than 1,000 US officials and sending it to Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria.

It was the first time Ardit Ferizi, 20, had publicly appeared in the United States Wednesday since being extradited from Malaysia, where he was detained in October on a US provisional arrest warrant.
