Three Malaysian students killed in Jordan road accident


PETALING JAYA: Three Malaysian students were killed in a road accident in Jordan, while two others were seriously injured earlier Saturday.

The Education Malaysia Jordan said in a post on its official Facebook page that the five, students from Mutah University, were on their way from Jordan to Mafraq for an educational programme when the incident occurred.

"Those injured are currently being treated at Mafraq Hospital.

"Let us pray for the souls of the deceased," the post said.

It is learnt that the three who perished are Fatin Iqmal Idziyani Che Aziz, Hana' Azhar and Al Najiatun Nailah Mohd Safie, while the injured are Izzam Hasif and Fatin Noor Syahirah.

It is also learnt that Izzam broke an arm and a leg while Fatin sustained facial injuries.

It was believed that the two will be transferred to a hospital in Amman.

The Malaysian Embassy in Jordan is expected to issue a statement later.
