Puppies in need of homes

PETALING JAYA: Canine welfare group Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) receives dozens of calls monthly regarding street puppies.

Unfortunately, the rescue group is unable to rescue all the puppies due to a lack of space to keep them.

"It is very sad but we cannot help it as adoptions are slow and many puppies remain with us for several months before they are all finally adopted," said MDDB adoption coordinator Chtistine Lai.

She added that this is why MDDB has adoption drives every week.

This week's adoption drive will be held on Sunday at Setiawalk Puchong.

More than a dozen puppies will be up for adoption from noon to 6pm at the space next to Starbucks.

"We hope people will come forward to adopt most of our puppies so that we can rescue more off the streets," said Lai.

MDDB merchandise and 2016 calendars will also be for sale at the venue.

Those who want to donate in cash or kind can drop off their contribution at the adoption drive.
