Khalid: Brunei Ruler overboard with decree

PETALING JAYA: The Sultan of Brunei has gone overboard by decreeing a maximum five-year prison sentence for Muslims who partake in Christmas celebrations or non-Muslims who celebrate it too openly, said Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad.

“What’s more important is to continue reminding Muslims that even though they can wish Christians a ‘Merry Christmas’, they should understand that it’s not part of their own religious celebrations.
