PHEB denies taking control of temples

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) chairman Dr P. Ramasamy has dismissed accusations that the board is taking over the management of Hindu temples in Penang that are not under its jurisdiction.

He said MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, who had raised the matter, was accusing the board after hearing a one-sided version of an incident that took place at the Sri Maha Muthu Mariamman temple in Batu Kawan, last Saturday.
