Beheaded body found in Sabah Felda estate

KOTA KINABALU: A foul stench led a Felda settler to a decomposing corpse of a man with an almost severed head and a broken wrist at Umas Umas in the east coast Tawau district.

Tawau police chief Asst Comm Fadil Harsus said the settler discovered the body late Wednesday though they believe he was killed a day or two earlier.

He said the settler alerted the Felda auxiliary police after finding the corpse in a ravine near the workers’ quarters at the plantation.

A Tawau police forensics team was then dispatched to the scene and they found traces of blood  and a tooth believed to belong to the victim.

ACO Fadil said the victim could not be immediately identified as no documents were recovered and the body had decomposed.

The body was taken to the Tawau district hospital for a post mortem and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
