KUALA LUMPUR: Army Mejar Vignes­wari Viswa­nathan is the toast of the family, making her mark as one of the few female armed forces personnel to receive two awards from the military.

The 36-year-old major, who is with the Royal Intelligence Corps, was named the Board of Governors Award for Best Overall Course Participant (Local) and Haigate Award for Best Overall Course Participant in Military Studies (Local).
