Number of Penang ferries to be reduced from January

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Port Sdn Bhd will reduce the number of ferries plying between the island and mainland from the current four to three from Jan 1. It will also reduce the operating hours of the vessels.

Currently, Penang Port operates a fleet of four ferries on a daily basis with 20 to 30-minute arrival intervals from 5.20am to 10pm and one ferry from 10pm to 1am with arrival intervals of 40 minutes.
