GEORGE TOWN: Three former policemen convicted of raping an Indonesian woman have failed in their bid to set aside their jail and rotan sentence in the High Court here.
Syahiran Romli, 24, and Remmy Dara, 28, both former constables and Nik Sin Mat Lazim, 36, an ex-corporal, were sentenced to 12 years’ jail each and one stroke of the cane by the Butterworth Sessions Court on May 12 after they were found guilty of raping the woman, now 28, at the Prai police station barracks between 6.40am and 7.30am on Nov 9, 2012.
