Group submits memorandum on Punjab protests

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia National Sikhs Movement (GerakSikh) has handed a memorandum to the Indian High Commission, calling for the governments of India and Punjab to apprehend individuals who desecrated the Guru Granth Sahib.

The memorandum, which was submitted on Wednesday by GerakSikh secretary-general Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill and is addressed to Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, also called for immediate action to be taken against incidents of violence against protesters in the state.
