Bigger fines for those who lose ICs

PETALING JAYA: Starting Thursday, Malaysians will pay higher fees and face greater government scrutiny should they lose ICs more than once.

Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (security policy) Datuk Seri Adenan Ab Rahman said the RM100 fee for a first time loss remained the same. But those losing their ICs a second time will have to pay RM300 instead of RM200 previously. A third and every subsequent loss will incur a fee of RM1,000 instead of just RM300 before.
