GEORGE TOWN: Penang will have to pay compensation it cannot afford if the state government cancelled existing quarry licences.
“The licences were approved by the previous government. We have to compensate the quarry owners if we cancelled their permits. You think we got a lot of money?” Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng asked at his press conference after the weekly state exco meeting yesterday.
