PETALING JAYA: Friendly banter between a businessman and a shopkeeper at Low Yat Plaza was misconstrued by some netizens who perceived it in a racial tone, said Wanita MCA chairman Datuk Heng Seai Kie.
Heng said she visited the shopping complex last Thursday with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup when a Malay businessman in the entourage extended his hand to a Chinese female shopkeeper known to him “but his hand was jovially beaten and pushed away by her”.
