MUAR: Four men died on the spot after two lorries carrying frozen meat and corn skidded and swerve to the opposition direction of the road along the North-South Expressway near the Pagoh toll exit here.
Muar OCPD Asst Comm Azman Ayob said that one of the bodies was found split into two during the 5am accident at KM141.7 of the expressway heading north here on Thursday.
He said that the victims were identified as Sarawakians Clearance anak Juwad, and Christope anak Kono, both 20, travelling in the frozen goods lorry while driver Ramlee Ishak, 42 and Sofian Ali, 38, were in the other lorry.
"Initially investigations showed that Clearance and Christope were heading south when they skidded and rammed into the divider before entering the opposite lane.
"Ramlee, who was driving the other lorry on the opposite direction could not break in time and crashed straight into the frozen meat lorry," he said when contacted here on Thursday (July 9).
He added the four victims died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries and their remains has been sent to the Muar Hospital for a post mortem.
