GEORGE TOWN: The state government will go ahead with its RM27bil Penang Transport Master Plan even though its request for a RM21bil allocation from the Federal Government was not included in the 11th Malaysia Plan, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said.
He said the state had applied for the funds to be used for traffic congestion mitigation projects, a light rail transit (LRT) system and the expansion of the Penang International Airport which is expected to reach its capacity by the end of this year.
