Customs seizing assets of those involved in illegal ciggies trade

KUALA LUMPUR: Assets of people involved in the smuggled cigarette trade can be seized under the Customs Act 1967.

Customs Department director-general Datuk Seri Khazali Ahmad (pic) said the Act provides for the assets of suppliers, distributors and retailers of contraband cigarettes to be forfeited.
