KOTA KINABALU: More than 600 villagers escaped death when their houses in a squatter area in Tawau were destroyed in a fire.
The villagers from Kg Tanjung Batu Keramat Laut were left homeless and have moved to the nearby community hall while some are staying temporarily with friends and relatives.
