PETALING JAYA: Canine rescuers are scrambling to look for a dog that escaped from its adopter’s house on Tuesday in Puchong.
According to rescuer Kavitah Ganasan, the dog is very special because it was rescued after its owner had committed suicide in January.
“Bambi was traumatised then and had done very well when she was with us and being rehabilitated.
“She was ready for rehoming and I delivered her to her new home on Monday night,’’ said Kavitah who is a volunteer with canine welfare group Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB).
Bambi had been kept indoors and was let out into the garden to ease herself. The young dog, which was about a year-old, dug a hole under the fence and ran away.
“She must have missed us. This happens sometimes until the dog gets used to the new environment,’’ said Kavitah.
She said Bambi was a very loving dog and had waited beside her late-owner’s remains until she was removed from and taken to a kennel for the police to go in and investigate.
“She had gone through so much and finally found a great home but this has to happen,’’ said Kavitah.
She added a big search party would be organised on Tuesday evening and those interested to participate could SMS her at 017-3303014 or Debby at 012-2577756.
Bambi escaped from the house located at Jalan BK 2/9, Bandar Kinrara 2, Puchong.
“If you see her, please grab her, and call Mark at 019-2176387.
She said Bambi’s both ears have been notched V to indicate that she is a rescued dog and is fully vaccinated and neutered.
