FACED with rising costs of living, Malaysian households – about 80% of whom are currently earning less than RM4,000 per month – have resorted to adopting smart consumer practices and lifestyle choices to stretch their Ringgit.
Smart households are now “saving as they spend” through good consumer habits like making price comparisons and bulk purchases for better deals, collecting discount coupons, using fuel-saving petrol, and paying with credit cards that give cash-back benefits or redeemable bonus points when swiped.
