Poachers open fire on Forestry Dept outpost

KOTA KINABALU: A Forestry Depart­ment outpost at a virgin jungle reserve near Lahad Datu was fired upon by two suspected poachers in their attempt to enter the area.

The men, who were first seen on a motorcycle by the staff members at the station at Sepgaya, along the Silam-Danum Valley road, had apparently rode near the area before firing at the building there.
