KOTA BARU: A senior citizen was stabbed and slashed to death after a quarrel at his house in Kampung Jerek Luar, Bertam, Gua Musang.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said Isa Hamad, 64, was found sprawled in a pool of blood with wounds on his head at 8am Sunday.

"The victim's son-in-law who was informed by the neighbours sent the victim to the Gua Musang Hospital for treatment but died at 7.15pm," he told reporters.

Police have detained a 36-year-old suspect.

"The suspect will be remanded for a week. We believe the suspect had an argument with the victim," Mazlan said. - Bernama
