JOHOR BARU: A programming engineer was found dead at his rented place in Taman Mount Austin here.

Pang Geok Ching, 41, who worked at a factory in the Tebrau industrial estate, had not turned up for work for two days before his body was found at around 7pm on Tuesday.

A supervisor at the factory, who wished to be known only as Tey, said he had called Pang several times but his calls went answered.

Tey then went to Pang’s home and found the door to the engineer’s room locked from the inside.

The supervisor then called the houseowner to open the door with a duplicate key.

“The case has been classified as sudden death. The police do not suspect foul play,” said ACP Sulaiman, adding the body has been sent to the Sultan Ismail Hospital here for a post-mortem.
