KUALA LUMPUR: Former political activist and academician Kassim Ahmad is challenging a prosecution against him by the Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department (Jawi) for allegedly insulting Islam.
He filed an application for judicial review at the High Court (Appellate and Special Powers) division registry here to seek, among others, a court order to quash the decision of Federal Territory Syarie chief prosecutor Ibrahim Deris to charge him in the Putrajaya Syariah High Court in March.
