KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) is proposing compulsory post-marriage counselling for Muslim couples to strengthen the family institution as well as to reduce the divorce rate in the country.
Jakim’s Family, Social and Com-munity Development director Zakuan Sawai said his division had prepared a working paper for the consideration of the respective state Islamic Religious departments.
