Hundred of people cheered and waved as the convoy started on its journey after it was flagged off by the State Assembly speaker Tan Sri Mohammad Aziz at the Dataran Bandaraya Johor Baru here yesterday morning.
Some members of the royal family, state officials, the Fire and Rescue Department, police and the armed forces also joined the four-day expedition, which will end at Nusajaya on Tuesday.
Themed Healthy Lifestyle this year, the convoy will be travelling some 858km passing through 10 districts across the state.
The programme includes interaction with the people and also providing aid to needy communities.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who was also present at the event, said the Kembara was also one of the events highlighted in the Visit Malaysia 2014 calendar.
”The expedition is also a good opportunity for the Ruler to see for himself the rapid developments taking place in the state.”
