KUALA LUMPUR: Consent of both parents is not needed to convert the religion of an underage child to Islam, according to Muslim lawyers.
Muslim Lawyers Association president Datuk Zainur Rijal Abu Bakar said one parent or guardian could decide on the religion of the child under 18 years, as accorded in the Federal Constitution.
