Najib accorded red carpet welcome in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT (Turkmenistan): Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was accorded a grand welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace here.

The prime minister inspected the Guard of Honour and was then introduced to Turkmenistan ministers and the diplomatic corps.

Both Najib and Turkmenistan president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov later held a meeting.

The leaders also witnessed the signing of a joint agreement on cultural cooperation, memorandum of understanding on education cooperation.

They also agreed on the Terms of Reference for the Joint Trade Committee and MoU on long term cooperation between Petronas and the State Agency in charge of Hydrocarbon.

Najib also attended a luncheon with some 100 Malaysians living here.
