MCA: Amend Federal Constitution to resolve disputes over religious conversion of children


PETALING JAYA: MCA has called for amendments to the Federal Constitution to end a long-standing dispute over the unilateral religious conversion of minors.

In a statement Wednesday, MCA Youth legal bureau chairman Choo Wei Sern said the amendment was needed following a case where the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) detained a woman during her Hindu wedding ceremony in Shah Alam.
