KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rains had again wreaked havoc here after several major roads were inundated by floodwaters.
Strong winds also toppled trees in several parts of the city, worsening the already chaotic traffic.
The Jalan Duta-Jalan Semantan interchange turned into a muddy stream momentarily during the 3pm downpour yesterday. All three lanes on both sides of Jalan Duta were submerged and at its peak, the water was 30cm deep.
A car was found stalled in the floodwaters along the slip road to Jalan Duta from Jalan Semantan heading towards Jalan Kuching.
The flash floods also caused motorists in other busy areas, including Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Bangsar and the Jalan Ampang-Jalan Sultan Ismail junction, to be caught in a nose-to-tail traffic snarl.
In Jalan Tun Razak, a car was hit by falling branches near an underpass but no injuries were reported.
