KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP Disciplinary Committee (DC) has taken action against a trio who breached party discipline in the course of raising their grouses against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
Danny Liom Eng Tiong@Leong Eng Tiong, member of DAP OUG Branch, was sacked for publicly making malicious accusations against MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok over the handling of election funds.
The DC also suspended the membership of Wong Choo Chieang, former DAP Seputeh Branch Chairman, for a year and Khoong Kam Yin, former DAP Taman Desa Branch Chairman, for two years for their involvement in the matter.
“They failed to exhaust internal party channels, including lodging a report with the DC. Instead, they had appeared in the media and were abetted by a non party individual to defame and tarnish the reputation of a party leader,” said DAP DC chairman Tan Kok Wai (pic) in a press statement on Friday.
The DC heard the complaints from DAP Seputeh Parliamentary Liaison Committee, Kok and the three members involved, added the Cheras MP.
Accounts and documents presented by DAP Seputeh were also examined, and the DC concluded that the allegations against Kok and her elections campaign manager Ng Chai Heng were false and baseless.
The trio is allowed to appeal against the DC's decision to DAP's Central Executive Committee within 14 days.
