KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian security forces have arrested a 57-year-old man claiming to be a representative of the self-styled Sulu Sultan at a house in the east coast Lahad Datu district.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) director-general Datuk Mohamad Mantek said the man holding a photocopy of a Malaysian identity card was held in the Long Danau settlement near Kampung Tanduo where Malaysian forces battled with Sulu gunmen intruders just over a year ago.
