PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has confirmed that he was in the country on the day of the Memali incident on Nov 19, 1985.
However, the former prime minister denied claims by his then deputy, Tun Musa Hitam, that he (Musa) had asked him to postpone his visit to China scheduled the day after the incident.
