KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia will move to the KL International Airport 2, according to executive chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun.
“I can confirm that we will move to KLIA2,” he said on the sidelines of a Sustainability and Diversity dialogue between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the corporate leaders of the country’s top 50 companies by market capitalisation here yesterday.
Kamarudin, however, did not say when.
AirAsia earlier said it would not move to KLIA2 until all the safety and security issues were resolved.
It is understood that the budget airline was concerned about the passenger service charge at the new airport which would raise cost.
However, the Prime Minister had said AirAsia must move to KLIA2 as scheduled on May 9.
