PETALING JAYA: KTM Bhd is under fire again, this time for failing to inform commuters about the temporary suspension of the sale of intercity train tickets for May.
Irate passenger Wong Pui Ling of Petaling Jaya thought that something might be wrong with KTMB’s e-ticketing website (www.ktmb.com.my) when it did not display any May tickets for sale for the past week. Tickets could usually be purchased 45 days ahead.
She then made a trip to the KL Sentral station on Monday to no avail. “The tickets are not for sale over the counter,” she said.
Worse, the attendant could not explain why no May tickets were available for sale, Wong said.
“It is unbecoming of KTM for not informing its customers on its website,” said the freelance counsellor.
Following a query from The Star, KTMB uploaded the notice on its corporate website yesterday, besides its other website targeted at intercity passengers (www.ktmintercity.com.my).
KTMB confirmed that it would be making some adjustments to its intercity and ETS (the electric train service plying the Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh route) scheduled for May.
It added that customers could also make enquiries through its hotline 1-300-88-5862 or 03-2267 1200 (7am to 10pm daily).
