OPPOSITION Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not have a diplomatic passport but the Foreign Ministry could have helped him if he had notified Wisma Putra of his intention to enter Japan earlier this year, the Dewan Rakyat heard.
Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin, replying to Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (PKR – Bukit Katil), said the Japanese government had clarified that Anwar was denied entry on Jan 12 because of his previous conviction.
