KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Rakyat members are willing to replace the 239 passengers and crew of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 if the plane was indeed hijacked.
Speaking at Parliament House, outspoken PAS Pokok Sena MP Datuk Mahfuz Omar said that if the plane was hijacked, there would have been negotiations by now.
"Our concern now is the safety of the passengers. I am willing to exchange places with the passengers and become a hostage if the need arises," he said.
Mahfuz later confirmed that the offer also involved other Pakatan Rakyat leaders.
During the Parliament session, Mahfuz urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to explain the many unanswered questions surrounding the missing flight.
"It is fine that Parliament had denied my motion to discuss the issue, but the Prime Minister or Transport Minister should come forward and give an explanation," he said.
