Haze: Unhealthy air in several Klang Valley areas

PETALING JAYA: The haze is back with several areas in the Klang Valley and Negri Sembilan recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 5pm Sunday.

The affected areas are Port Klang (163), Kuala Selangor (157), Cheras (151), Shah Alam (125), Petaling Jaya and Putrajaya (122), Seremban (114) and Nilai (111)  and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (108).

An API of between 51 to 100 is considered moderate, 101-200 unhealthy, 200-300 very unhealthy and 300 and above hazardous.

Areas also showing deteriorating conditions are Seri Majung, Perak (97), Muar (93), Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (92) and Malacca (89).

The haze had improved to moderate levels by the evening on Mar 4 allowing Malaysians to breathe a little easier. 

Now it looks like its back to the hazy days.
