Two more Tuhan Harun sect members charged with JAIP officer's murder


KUANTAN: Two more followers of the Tuhan Harun deviationist teachings were charged in the Magistrate’s court here in connection with the murder of Pahang Islamic Religious Department (JAIP) principal assistant director Ahmad Raffli Abd. Malek.

No plea were recorded from Shamsinar Abdul Halim and Jefferi Safar, both 37.

Shamsinar is jointly charged with Sumustapha Suradi, 40, and another person, who is still at large, with murdering Ahmad Raffli at Lorong IM2/29 Bandar Indera Mahkota here on Nov 10 last year.

Jefferi is jointly charged with the leader of the deviationist teachings, Harun Mat Saat, 48, his wife Azida Mohd Zol, 30, and a driver, Shaizral Eddie Nizam Shaari, 38, with conspiring in the crime.

Sumustapha, Harun, Azida and Shaizral Eddie had been charged with the respective offence on Dec 16 last year.

DPP Amer Abu Bakar Abdullah requested that the case be brought before the Kuantan High Court.

Magistrate Noor Zaihan Mohamad Ali allowed the application and fixed Mar 17 for mention at the High Court. - Bernama
