KUALA LUMPUR : The Customs department is set to curb the sales of illegal ciggarettes nationwide as it is costing the government some RM1.9bil in uncollected taxes annually.
Customs director-general Datuk Seri Khazali Ahmad said the operation, dubbed Ops Outlet, which starts today, will be tough on errand traders who sell illegal cigarettes.
