Trader, his second wife fined for chilli paste attack on first wife

KUALA LUMPUR: A petty trader and his second wife were fined RM500 each in default five months jail for smearing the face of the first wife with chilli paste.

Muhammad Ariff Jupirin, 26, and Srimeirika Iswandy, 24, pleaded guilty to the offence before magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin on Tuesday.

Muhammad Ariff and Srimeirika, who is unemployed, were charged with the offence on Muntamah, 46, causing pain in both her eyes in front of a house in Jalan Badak off Jalan Yew here at about 1am on Feb 25.

According to the statement of facts, the victim, also a petty trader, was waiting for a friend in her car in front of the rented house.

Two individuals approached the car and one of them smeared chilli paste on the victim's face. The other pulled Muntamah out of the car.

They later fled the scene in Muntamah's car which has her business items, passport, driving license, business licence and daughter's birth certificate.

Investigation revealed that the two individuals were the accused.
