MUKAH: Outgoing Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud confirmed that he had written to state legislative assembly speaker Datuk Amar Mohammad Asfia Awang Nassar on his intention to vacate the Balingian state seat, effective tomorrow.
“The letter has been sent. I will step down as Balingian assemblyman this Friday,” he said, when met by the media after attending an appreciation gathering in his honour here yesterday.
