PETALING JAYA: Hours after a 26-year-old woman died from a fractured skull and other severe injuries, members of her family allegedly confronted her 30-year-old boyfriend and assaulted him.

The former operations manager of a security company has been warded in the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre’s (UMMC) trauma and emergency unit.

It was the same place where his girlfriend, Pakizah Raja Khan, was rushed to early yesterday with torn lips and injuries on her head and body. She died at about 1.40am.

It was learnt that the man was allegedly set upon by members of the woman’s family who accused him of beating her up.

Pakizah’s adoptive mother T. Ushadavi, 53, said her daughter’s boyfriend called her about 8.50pm on Monday and asked her to come to his apartment in Lagoon Perdana in Bandar Sunway.

“I arrived at his unit at midnight and found my daughter writhing in pain,” she said, adding that the man’s aunt and a little girl were also in the apartment then.

Pakizah’s 37-year-old foster sister S. Ramkumari said the man had claimed she was injured after slamming herself on the wall.

“Her body was battered. How could she have gotten those injuries from hitting a wall?”

“She was the youngest of four siblings. We grew up together and I love her dearly,” said the employee of a publishing company.

Ramkumari said she believed that problems over money could be behind her sister’s death.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the case had been classified as murder.

He declined to comment when asked if Pakizah’s boyfriend was beaten up by her family members.

“Our officers are waiting to question him as soon as he recovers,” said ACP Yahaya.
