PETALING JAYA: The Volkswagen Passat belonging to TV3 journalist Datuk Karam Singh Walia, which was stolen from his home in Klang, has been found in Johor Baru.
The vehicle, together with his family members’ passports, were among the items recovered by police in Kampung Kempas Baru yesterday morning following the arrest of three men.
“After a public tip-off, police raided a house in Kampung Kempas Baru,” Selangor Deputy Commi-ssioner Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said when contacted.
“In the house were several electronic devices, burglary tools and handbags were recovered,” he added.
“Two of the suspects had tested positive for drugs,” DCP Abdul Rahim said.
On Thursday, Karam’s home in Taman Sri Andalas in Klang was broken into by a group of robbers, who also made away with a television set.
An automated SMS was sent from the house alarm system to the journalist’s wife, who was out at that time.
As soon as she returned, Karam’s wife found that the padlock on the front door had been broken.
The losses were estimated at RM130,000.
