PETALING JAYA: Good Samaritans saved two children from a fiery death, when they pulled them out of their burning car that spontaneously combusted near the Selayang Hospital.
Selangor Fire and Rescue department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul, citing witnesses said the purple Proton Exora burst into flames while it was parked just outside the hospital at around 4pm Friday.
“We were told that people went to look at the burning car and rushed over to help when they saw two children who were trapped inside. They must have been left there while the driver went to settle something,” he said.
Seven Fire and Rescue officers were dispatched and was able to put out the fire, which had severely burnt the car to a crisp and also damaged a nearby motorcycle at around 4.30pm.
