PETALING JAYA: The three actors in Seputeh MP Teresa Kok’s controversial Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014 video will be hauled up for questioning at the Travers police station.
Acting City CID chief Asst Comm Khairi Ahrasa confirmed this, adding that they would be questioned today as witnesses under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The group’s lawyer, Aaron Lee, said only actress Lim Ching Miau, 32, had been served with a notice to attend the questioning.
Around 300 police reports have been lodged against Kok’s video, where she posed as a feng shui talk show host and had “panellists” poke fun at various national issues, including the education system, rising cost of living and public safety.
Kok is being investigated under Section 505 (B) of the Penal Code and Section 233 (1) (a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act for allegedly making statements that insulted the nation’s leaders.
Last Thursday, about 50 people claiming to be part of the Council of Muslim NGOs, protested along Jalan Tun Perak against Kok’s video, offering a reward to anyone who slapped her. They then slaughtered chickens and smeared their blood on a poster with the faces of Kok, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and Machang Bubuk MP Lee Khai Loon.
